Working from his workshop in the ancient town of York, England, Ralph Bown makes exquisite acoustic guitars and related stringed instruments that are played by such guitar heroes as Martin Simpson, John Renbourne, Henry Kaiser and Allan Taylor
Ralph's "range" includes conventional guitars, based on well-loved and well-respected designs such as the Martin O/OO/OOO classic styles, through more unusual styles such as the Stella, much loved by blues players and made famous by Leadbelly to genuine specialities such as tiples, harp-guitars and a long-scale "baritone", designed for heavier strings, lower tunings and a rich, growly sound.
Ralph's models are each dealt with in separate "datasheets" (with photographs).
